1. Lavender Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse
ACV is the Holy Grail ingredient of DIY-ing, from its ability to balance the scalp’s pH levels to sealing off the cuticle for silky healthy hair; ACV belongs in your hair care arsenal. Likewise, lavender's soothing elements help calm an irritated scalp and leave you relaxed and smelling amazing all day long.
Measure 16 ounces of ACV (apple cider vinegar) and pour it into a large container
Submerge your tea bags in the ACV.
Add essential oils
Put on the lid and set on a counter or ledge that gets sun exposure
Stir mixture every day and let it sit for a week (minimum).
Mix 1 tablespoon of your rinse with 4 ounces of water in a squirt bottle, and apply to wet hair. Comb it through (evenly), let it rest for two minutes then rinse out the formula, well. The vinegar scent will disappear as your hair dries, leaving you with happy luminous hair. Store your mixture in a cool, dry place post use.
2. Tea Tree Coconut Milk Shampoo
Trade in harsh sulfates for this nourishing blend of coconut and tea tree oil. This combination will repair damage, replenish follicle health and invigorate every stand for beautiful bouncy hair.
¼ cup coconut milk (homemade or canned)
¼ cup liquid soap (like Dr. Bronner’s)
20 drops of tea tree oil
*For dry hair: add ½ tsp olive or almond oil
Combine all ingredients into a squirt bottle
Shake well to mix.
Keep in cool and dry place
Grab squirt bottle and shake well before each application. Disperse shampoo through wet hair, rinse hair then follow with normal routine.
3. Peppermint Avocado Oil Shampoo
Like any good wake up call, this blend of avocado and peppermint oil will make your hair rise and shine. The peppermint oil stimulates circulation and eliminates the build up while the avocado oil restores moisture and shine.
2 tsp avocado oil
½ cup distilled water
¼ cup liquid castile soap
5-10 drops of peppermint essential oil
Put the above ingredients in a squirt bottle
Combine ingredients and shake well before each use. Pour on the head and gently massage into the scalp for a minute or two then rinse completely.
