3 DIY Essential Oil Shampoo Recipes

1. Lavender Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse

ACV is the Holy Grail ingredient of DIY-ing, from its ability to balance the scalp’s pH levels to sealing off the cuticle for silky healthy hair; ACV belongs in your hair care arsenal. Likewise, lavender's soothing elements help calm an irritated scalp and leave you relaxed and smelling amazing all day long.

You’ll need:
16 oz apple cider vinegar
4 bags horsetail tea
5 drops of lavender oil (we like to use lavender to mask the vinegar smell)

Instructions:
Measure 16 ounces of ACV (apple cider vinegar) and pour it into a large container

Submerge your tea bags in the ACV.

Add essential oils

Put on the lid and set on a counter or ledge that gets sun exposure

Stir mixture every day and let it sit for a week (minimum).

To use:

Mix 1 tablespoon of your rinse with 4 ounces of water in a squirt bottle, and apply to wet hair. Comb it through (evenly), let it rest for two minutes then rinse out the formula, well. The vinegar scent will disappear as your hair dries, leaving you with happy luminous hair. Store your mixture in a cool, dry place post use.
